• PARKING:  on the grass, in front of the red buildings.
• MY QUARTERS: You will find me on my back porch or nearby, and if you ring the bell I shall appear..
• TO THE ORCHARD: We are a small farm, so all our fruits are within a short walking distance 
• In the spirit of a cleaner environment, I encourage you to bring your reusable bags and containers.
• If it rains or has rained heavily, trees are dripping and the path is wet, I will close, so check the weather forecast for Hudson before you leave or call me.
• We are cash-based only.

Hello, Friends of Smith Farms,

It’s great to be back and chat with you.

Rain, rain, and more rain, and it keeps on raining. The good news is that the orchard is green and lush.

Some bad news:

My Mommy (the mother of my four cats) was hit by a car in February.

My beloved collie Sammy was euthanized on Thursday. He was 12 years old and in poor health. My other collie, Gloria, has been very subdued since I came back from the Vet without Sammy.

Some good news

 I have a decent crop of cherries. Last year was a bumper crop, this year is going to be a more moderate crop.

Contrary to what I posted on June 7, it turns out that I will have peaches this year. Ouff!!! I must have my eyes examined or mow the peach orchard without my sunglasses. They were small, but they were there. Hurrah!!! and lots of them too. I am so happy and hope you are too.

The apple trees seem happy so far.

If everything goes according to plan, I will open for cherry picking on Friday, June 27. I will update this post on June 25 to make sure the cherries are ripe enough.

I am looking forward to seeing you again, or for the first time for newcomers.
